BETALEN AI is an Indian, Hyderabad-based AI startup run and operated by Betalen Technology India Pvt Ltd. Since January 2021 we have operated research AI labs focused on data science, analytics and production-grade machine-learning data. Our story
From a Hyderabad research lab to global AI pipelines
BETALEN AI began inside Betalen Technology India Pvt Ltd as a research initiative in January 2021. A small team of data scientists, ML engineers and domain analysts set up a lab in Hyderabad's Hi-Tech City to solve a problem they kept seeing in enterprise AI projects: great models fail without clean, labelled, well-structured data.
What started as experiments in computer-vision annotation and NLP corpora quickly grew into end-to-end data operations. Today we run managed data pipelines, AI agent prototypes, analytics platforms and model-evaluation programmes for clients in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and India.
Our headquarters remain in Hyderabad, and our delivery model combines onshore programme managers with trained annotation and engineering pods across India, the US, Singapore, Vietnam and the Middle East. This hybrid setup lets us offer 24-hour turnaround, local compliance understanding and cost-efficient scale.

Your data stays yours
Isolated project environments, NDAs for every worker, no cross-client reuse and no model training on client data. On request we work entirely inside your VPC or secure facility.
People are paid properly
Our annotators are salaried employees, not piece-rate gig workers. Fair pay lowers turnover, and low turnover is the single strongest predictor of label quality over time.

Durga Prasad Baghuthu founded BETALEN AI inside Betalen Technology India Pvt Ltd in January 2021 with a simple intention: make high-quality, ethically sourced training data accessible to every AI team, not just the handful of labs that can afford in-house data factories. With 20+ years of industry experience spanning enterprise software architecture, full-stack .NET engineering, DevOps and cloud platforms, he has shipped mission-critical systems for banking, healthcare, retail and manufacturing clients across the globe.
He leads the company's research agenda personally — from annotation quality science and RLHF pipelines to agentic automation and enterprise AI adoption — and stays hands-on in architecture reviews with client engineering teams.
